Grants Awards - CFSurrey Awards Over £350k in Grants to 49 Organisations Across Surrey

Last week, CF Surrey disbursed £351,348 across 49 grants, showcasing the diverse support provided by the voluntary sector in the county. Ranging from environment to employment, these grants underline the the sheer amount of work going on in our community.

Notably, health and wellbeing emerged as a prevalent theme, with £100k allocated to projects addressing mental health, social isolation, and health-related challenges.

Menshare, a charity providing safe spaces for men to share their problems and speak openly around mental health have expressed their gratitude,
“Funding allows us to create the space where we can operate circles and nature activities; to make provisions for men to be in safe spaces and openly talk and address their problems. Reducing risk of suicides. Addressing mental health.  Helping the community.  Creating connections. Making positive changes in their lives”.

Big Leaf Foundation works with displaced young people in Surrey, where numbers of refugees have increased greatly over the last two years. They say;
"Translation and interpretation services are vital to ensuring all young people can access our Casework services and understand information about their asylum claims and rights, irrespective of their level of English. Funding from CFSurrey means we can support young people to understand their rights."

Additionally, the Winter Poverty campaign has awarded £70,000 to 13 groups combatting food insecurity, homelessness, and economic strains on health and wellbeing. The programme is still open and we are currently reviewing 8 more applications hoping for another £70,000 in projects supporting people struggling in the current environment.
We are still asking for donations as there is the opportunity to double the income with matched funding from Surrey County Council. Our donations page can be found here.

Looking ahead, CF Surrey gears up for its next grants round, having invited 97 applications for the 2024/25 programme. With ongoing fundraising efforts, the organisation remains committed to addressing critical community needs.
