Who We Are

We believe in a stronger, fairer Surrey enabling everyone to support organisations that are making a positive difference to our communities, ensuring no one is left behind.

Our mission is to make a lasting difference to Surrey by being a catalyst in the county; through connecting people, ideas and resources to local need.

We are a small team of experts in grant making and fund management, working alongside a wider network of trustees, ambassadors, advisors and volunteers to achieve our vision and mission.

The Community Foundation for Surrey is part of a wider network of 47 Community Foundations in the UK that bring together philanthropists with dynamic local organisations who need funding and other resources.

Founded in the heart of local communities, each Community Foundation is unique, identifying local needs and mobilising local resources. We work with donors, large and small, to make their gift have greatest impact.

The Community Foundation movement started in Ohio, USA in 1914 and was based on the concept of “local help for local needs.” Today there are over 1,800 independent Community Foundations in over 50 countries worldwide.
